James M. Cox Dayton International Airport is the air carrier airport for the Dayton region.
It is named after the late Ohio governor and the founder of the Dayton Daily News. Cox raised funds from the business community to buy the privately owned field for the city of Dayton in the 1930s.
With car rentals on the field and proximity to the intersection of I-70 and I-75, the airport is less than an hour from all of the places and activities described on this website. For this reason, only a few major sites are listed here.
Dayton also manages the downtown Transportation Center Heliport, which is restricted to scheduled use, and Dayton-Wright Brothers Airport.
