Neil Armstrong Airport in New Knoxville is the closest general aviation airport to Wapakoneta, hometown of Apollo 11 astronaut Neil Armstrong. Armstrong learned to fly as a youth; he soloed at age 16 and earned his pilot's license before he earned a driver's license. In 1969, he became the first human to walk on the moon.
