The
three-day World War I Dawn Patrol Rendezvous takes place
every other year on the back field of the National Museum
of the United States Air Force. It is presented by the
museum and the Great War Aeroplanes Association. The
Rendezvous draws reproduction WWI aircraft, radio-control
model airplanes, vintage cars, re-enactors in a World War I
encampment, and a collector's show. Food and merchandise
are available for sale. The museum itself is open 9
a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. The last event was in 2009; dates
for the 2011 event have not been announced.
The National Museum of the United States Air Force is
located on Springfield Street, six miles northeast of
downtown Dayton. It is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. seven days a
week (closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day).
Admission and parking are free.
