The
Armstrong Air and Space Museum in Wapakoneta, Ohio, honors
hometown hero and Apollo 11 Commander Neil Armstrong, other
Ohio astronauts, and all pioneers who made air and space
travel possible.
The two-level museum features displays and artifacts of
Armstrong's life and career, including the Gemini and
Apollo space suits he wore on his NASA space missions, and
a moon rock collected by Armstrong and Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin
during their history-making exploration of the moon's
surface in July 1969.
Also on display are the Gemini 8 spacecraft Armstrong flew
with David Scott in 1966 on the first space-docking mission
and the the first airplane Armstrong ever flew, a 1946
Aeronca 7AC Champion. the Astro Theater presents a
multimedia production that brings the sights and sounds of
space travel down to earth, and space shuttle and moon
landing simulators allow people to test their
spaceship-flying skills.
Related exhibits include a portrait gallery for all 24 Ohio astronauts and historical items from Soviet Cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin, the first human to fly in space.

Sunday: Noon-5:00 p.m.
Closed: Mondays, New Year's Day, July 4, Thanksgiving, December 25, Monday holidays unless specified
Admission
Adults: $8.00
Children 6-12: $4.00
Children 5 and younger: FREE
School Groups: $3.00 per student
AAA and senior discounts given. Military discounts are available to all active military and their dependents.
Groups
Groups of 20 people or more receive a discount on admission Motorcoach driver and one tour leader are given complimentary admission. Tour guides are available upon request with advance notice.
